EXPERIENCED CONTROLLER - Construction/Manufacturing

Details: High-Level Controller in Construction/Manufacturing We are a well-established supplier to commercial general contractors, and we’re consolidating our administrative offices in Roanoke, Virginia. Currently $12 million in revenue, we need a dynamic Controller experienced in all aspects of accounting, finance and banking to help us reach the next level. The ideal candidate will have a superior work ethic, an analytical mind, be technically savvy, and have a hands-on management style to successfully manage accounting teams in multiple locations. The Controller is responsible for the planning, execution and oversight of all accounting, finance and banking matters, including total compensation, AP/AR, general ledger, job costing, as well as preparation of financial, tax and operational reports. In addition, the Controller has the opportunity to strategically assist the ownership in the continued success of the organization. The Controller is part of the five-member Executive Management Team, and reports directly to the Owner, with all accounting /finance staff reporting directly to the Controller. Essential Functions Create and execute financial strategic plan and manage multi-disciplinary teams in multiple locations Responsible for timely and accurate monthly closing, journal entries, bank and cash reconciliations Develop accruals, accounting work papers, etc. Cash Flow analysis, forecast and management Ensure compliance with regard to taxes, bonding, insurances, permits, licenses, etc. Maintain superior relationships with lending institutions 10% travel, primarily to company offices on the East Coast  Essential Requirements Minimum 5 years GAAP Accounting/Finance Management Minimum 2 years of managing teams Verifiable experience in Construction and Manufacturing billing practices (draws, progress payments, partial billing, etc.) Experience with job costing, productivity analysis, cash management, budgeting, payroll, financial analysis/reporting, bank reconciliation, tax compliance and preparation a must Verifiable experience in managing $10 million+ in revenue Experience working in an asset-based lending environment required Knowledge and experience in standard MIS and accounting software, (Timberline preferred), ADP, Microsoft Office Suite, etc. Familiarity with corporate documents, basic contracts, etc.  We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
